Membership Drive on Wednesday

Please join us on Wednesday, June 17, when we will hold a membership drive. Members of the Executive Board will meet at the home of chair Omaha Sternberg (address below) and call through the membership list. Our goal is to remind those who haven’t renewed yet of the benefits of continued membership in the 33rd LD Democrats, to gather volunteers for our list of summer events, and to further the survey we did earlier this year with the remaining membership.

We’ll have snacks and drinks…all you need to bring is your cell phone. Hope to see you there!

Membership Drive
Wednesday, June 17, 6:30 – 8 pm

Kit Dexter Dinner Update

Don’t forget that the Kit Dexter Dinner is this coming Monday, February 23rd, at the Normandy Park Congregational Church, from 7 pm to 9 pm. We will be commemorating Kit Dexter, long-time volunteer and activist in the 33rd district.

Speakers will include Suzie Sheary of the King County Democrats. Dinner will be catered by progressive supporter Galliano’s Cucina, and the night will include a live auction and a dessert auction. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children, and $15 for those living lightly. Contact Lionel Forde if you need to purchase a ticket.

LAC/PCO Training/Crab Feed Day Carpooling Event!

UPDATE: We have cars available for all day, for just the LAC Day/PCO Training, and even one vehicle going down for the crab feed only. All vehicles will be meeting at the Kent Carpenters Hall (25120 Pacific Hwy S, in Kent). Vehicles for all day or LAC Day/PCO Training will leave no later than 9 am. Contact Omaha Sternberg (206-618-5107) about the crab feed car.

We do have meetings set up with all three of our state legislators in the afternoon, so make sure to attend this exciting event!

February 16th is the day of the annual LAC Day, PCO Training, and Crab Feed in Olympia. Many have expressed an interest in going, so we are arranging a carpooling event. All carpools will meet at the Kent Carpenters Hall. You can park your car there for the day, and the METRO route 174 passes by there.

The carpooling event will schedule to leave Kent Carpenters Hall (25120 Pacific Hwy S, in Kent) at 9:00 am on Monday, February 16th. To participate either as a passenger or driving your car, contact Vice-chair Bob Loeliger. We are looking for vehicles to go down for the entire event, for the PCO training/LAC, and for just the crab feed. If you plan to do any of these, contact Bob!

This is a wonderful chance for you, if you are a PCO, to get a review of which strategies and messages worked from the Gregoire campaign, a preview of Organizing for America, the new political movement sponsored by the Obama Team at the DNC, a better understanding of the recession and the Economic Stimulus Bill, and finally Vote Builder training.

Also, we are arranging time with our legislators of the 33rd to spend some time talking with us, discussing what they are doing, and listening to us about what we would like, and what we can do to help them. This is also a great time to listen to various lobbyists in Olympia.

And let’s not forget the crab feed! Yum!!

Don’t forget to sign-up, and we’ll see you there.
